Since 2015, Spencer Jean, DO, DO(MP), MBA has been practicing manual osteopathy in his hometown of Tecumseh, ON as the only Manual Osteopath in Windsor Educated with a Doctorate of Osteopathy Degree.  After completing his undergraduate studies in Health Sciences on dual academic and hockey scholarships at Adrian College and Florida Gulf Coast University he signed a professional playing contract with the Florida Everblades in the ECHL.  Unfortunately, injuries forced his retirement from hockey BUT this lead him to his career in osteopathy.

After completing 5890 hours of study, he obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy and Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice at the National University of Medical Sciences and the National Academy of Osteopathy.  During his final year of studies, he completed an internship at Boston Universities Sport Legacy Institute and became certified as a Brain Injury Specialist through the American Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists.

Once practicing, Spencer completed his MBA in Healthcare Administration through NUMSS and University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.  He continues his education through CEU’s through various institutions but mainly through Michigan State’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Spencer goes to great lengths to deliver the best care for his patients, understanding and meeting their every need. He has unique insights into injuries as a patient and practitioner.  His practice is fairly diverse as he treats a variety of neuromusculoskeletal conditions in patients of all ages and demographics.  His youngest patient is currently 2 weeks old and his oldest patient is 99 years of age.  He is a contracted practitioner of several NHL’s Teams and treats many other professional and Olympic athletes. He focuses on rehabilitation of injuries and dysfunction, managing symptoms of chronic neuromusculoskeletal diseases, and preventative healthcare.

Outside his practice, he enjoys traveling with his wife, playing golf, functional exercise training, playing with his 2 dogs and 4 cats, the odd marathon, and is heavily involved in his community through several volunteer and charitable roles.

Spencer is also a Professor at his osteopathy alma mater NUMSS.  He is the professor for two courses: 1) Osteopathic Concussion Management and 2) Orthopedic Bracing and Kinesiology Taping.
